Abstract: Developed add-on to the basic provisions of the theory of biological invasions, to overcome the limitations imposed by »genetic paradox»: found a mechanism to ensure that the ecological success of biological invasions, with significant loss of genetic diversity. Based on the analysis of successful invasive species in freshwater ecosystems Ponto-Caspian basin discovered and substantiated that successful adaptation of species during their installation and naturalization into new territory with significant reduction of genetic diversity is ensured by the epigenetic mechanism. Loss of genetic variability is offset by the emergence and implementation of discrete ontogenetic programs
