Abstract: Magnetic fluid seals are the best known technical application of magnetic fluids. Therefore, the development of an adequate mathematical model describing the relevant features of a magnetic fluid seal and numerical algorithms for its solution are of great importance, e.g. for the computer optimization of the design of magnetic fluid seals.
