| Abstract: | The article explores the main stages of the development of Belarusian statehood in the XXth century in close connection with the geopolitical position of Belarus and the foreign policy of the Belarusian People's Republic, the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic and the Republic of Belarus. The author characterizes in brief the international status and the specific features of diplomacy of the above-mentioned states and state formations. The essence and content of the socalled "Belarusian question" is analysed, as well as its role and place in the system of international relations both of the region of Central and Eastern Europe and of the European continent as a whole. |
